“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Louis Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson and Albert Einstein.” – H. Jackson, Brown, Jr.
Each and every year life presents us an endless number of options and opportunities to consider. Each one of these offers both hands full of gifts, things to marvel, and the promise of adventures. Unfortunately we seldom see or accept the challenges and possibilities that may come from embracing them.
Truth be told, we are too busy being busy doing low level tasks that we never get around to doing what we envision our life and work to be. Simply stated we forget our vision for the future and where we want to be personally and professionally in three, five and ten years.
What is your vision for the future? Do you know where you want to go and where you want to be? Remember this is your life, and it is your one and only life. Only you can determine what is possible for your life. So it is time to consider the “want to’s, choose to’s and the I really can’t wait to’s” in your professional and personal life.
The time is now to take stock of where you stand today. Do you want to go back to school, start a family, start a new business, consider a new venture or even retire? It is time to take action on your vision. You don’t have to take life the way it comes at you, instead, design it the way you want it to be based on your vision.
So it is time to jump start your vision – NOW. Write it down. State it simply. For instance: I want to retrace my family genealogy; I will make an action plan for a grand adventure; or I will create a business plan for starting a new business. It is time to stop thinking “what if” and time to make it “what is.” Decide today what will come next in your life and develop the strategy of how to make it happen!”
“The future is sending back good wishes and waiting with open arms.” – Kobi Yamada
