“Loyalty to petrified opinions never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul.” – Mark Twain
October’s theme is Freedom. It is often misunderstood and taken for granted. Too many believe it is something just taken not earned, something that is simply a right without any responsibility. I intend to address these assumptions and the value of freedom well thought and responsibly used.
You don’t have to take life the way it comes at you. I have learned that you can design your life in a way that you want to engage it. If you think about it, we have one and only one life to live and so we better make the best of what we have. If we embrace freedom and practice it fully, we can make choices, our own choices that will keep us from missing any part of it. Practice your freedom of choice; choose to make the next 3 years, 5 years and beyond the most exciting, satisfying and productive years of your life. Your ability to fully utilize your freedom of choice will make your next 5 years truly amazing and fulfilling or, ho-hum just another 5 years.
So get started today stir up your being and get the juices flowing, inspire yourself and get in touch with your dreams. It’s time to “cook up your own home brew” of what can be done with the rest of your life. You are free to create and then fulfill your own call to action.
Look for fresh new ways of thinking and doing things differently in different areas of your personal and professional life. Shed what has shackled you, locked you up from stepping out of your comfort zone to do what you have really wanted to accomplish. Let go of your limiting beliefs, free yourself from conjured fears, suspicions, uncertainties and doubts that you have chosen to let hold you back. Free yourself from those unfounded weights.
Whether it is a idea you have been afraid to try, or the pursuit of a heart-racing adventure you have longed for, it is time to free yourself, stop asking “What if?” and instead proclaim “What is!”
What do you really want to do? What do you really want to have, want to be and where do you want to go? The answers to these questions are directly tied, in my opinion, to how well you practice and use the freedoms we all enjoy as citizens in a democracy. Moreover, the answers will be linked to the choices you make and the responsibility of how you live your freedom.
